The making of...

It takes many hours to hand trim the faces of the animals  to reveal their unique personalities. No two are ever the same.

An Idea Is Born

This is the start of a teddy face. Six pieces of material are cut out and hand sewn together.

Next

I start hand trimming the nose till I can measure the placement for the hand painted safety or glass eyes.

Next

I trim back the rest of the cheeks and mouth, then I thread sculpt and paint on the coloring around the eyes, nose and mouth.

Finishing

I hand paint and sew the hand and foot pads on thread contouring their little toes, put everything together with the wood and metal joints I make and finally decide  what they will wear! Such a wonderful journey each time I never know who will show up!!
